“En este momento de mi carrera artística me encuentro en la necesidad de explorar nuevos formatos y técnicas que me permitan observar mi investigación teórica desde nuevas aristas y perspectivas. Busco hacer esta residencia para indagar tanto en el gran formato como en la imagen en “close up” en diferentes materiales y técnicas. El propósito de esto es entender como se comporta el color, la imagen y el trazo al darle un mayor espacio de desarrollo, un nuevo enfoque y materiales a la obra.
Creo que el mensaje que transmite un gesto corporal varía según la escala, el nivel de detalle que le demos y la interacción que tiene el espectador con esta; si es una imagen que solo podemos mirar o también tocar, si este cuerpo que vemos es mucho más pequeño que nosotros o el doble de nuestra escala, si observamos la escena completa o solo un detalle, etc.
Me gustaría especificamente trabajar el retrato y detalles de escenas a gran escala para entender la capacidad expresiva del detalle, el gesto y el rostro, y observar el poder que tiene un solo gesto o una mirada que nos permite entender la escena completa y la emoción de una imagen.”

“At this moment in my artistic career I find myself in need of exploring new formats and techniques that allow me to observe my theoretical research from new angles and perspectives. I seek to do this residence to investigate both the large format and the image in "close up" in different materials and techniques. The purpose of this is to understand how color, image and stroke behave by giving a greater development space, a new approach and materials to the art work.

I believe that the message conveyed by a body gesture varies depending on the scale, the level of detail that we give it, and the interaction that the viewer has with it; if it is an image that we can only look at or even touch, if this body that we see is much smaller than us or twice our scale, if we observe the entire scene or just a detail, etc.

I would specifically like to work on the portrait and details of large-scale scenes to understand the expressive capacity of detail, gesture and face, and observe the power that a single gesture or a look has that allows us to understand the complete scene and the emotion of an image."
