“THE VARIABLE HORIZON”

El tema principal de la obra de arte es el proceso recurrente de reasentamiento de personas como resultado de sucesos aleatorios como la guerra, la opresión, la inflación, la difícil situación política y el trabajo mejor pagado. Me interesa especialmente este tema por la historia de mi familia, que se ha mudado a lo largo de los años no solo de Ucrania a Polonia y de Polonia a Argentina, sino también a través de la actual Federación Rusa. Nunca he tenido contacto con ninguno de ellos. Esta historia me interesó especialmente en el contexto de la situación geopolítica actual, cuando los inmigrantes de guerra de Ucrania están llegando a Polonia. Por lo tanto, quise crear una imagen de tierra no sólida, inflamable, con bordes borrosos. Así es como se ve el mundo a lo largo de los siglos.

The main topic of the artwork is the recurring process of resettlement of people as a result of random occurrences such as war, oppression, inflation, difficult political situation, and better paid work. I am particularly interested in this topic because of the history of my family, which has moved over the years not only from Ukraine to Poland and from Poland to Argentina, but also through current Russian Federation. I've never had any contact with any of them. This story interested me especially in the context of the current geopolitical situation, when war immigrants from Ukraine are coming to Poland. Therefore, I wanted to create an image of a non-solid land, flammable, with blurred borders. This is what the world looks like over the centuries.
