"Mi obra se desarrolla principalmente a través de la pintura, y la fotografía como medio subordinado a lo pictórico. He abordado desde diferentes temáticas y visualidades el cuerpo femenino desnudo. Creo que nuestros cuerpos, al ser representados desde nuestra mirada, pueden incomodar, transgredir cánones, generar reflexiones y no ser solo el cuerpo pasivo; el cuerpo recostado, como lo ha sido históricamente en el arte.

En mi intercambio a España el año 2018 comencé a trabajar con la apropiación y re-significación de imágenes católicas, principalmente de la Virgen María: imagen de la mujer creada y promovida por la Iglesia. María es el ideal inalcanzable que legiGma los estereoGpos que impone la sociedad patriarcal sobre la mujer, y sus dos grandes armas- caracterísGcas son virginidad y maternidad. Ya en Chile la temática se complejiza. Mis nuevos referentes son imágenes híbridas coloniales; imágenes que llegaron desde Europa a nuestro conGnente, que se fueron mezclando y creando nuevas interpretaciones. Imágenes con las que lograron conquistar nuestro territorio; imágenes que lograron posicionar a la Virgen como el modelo del “deber ser” para la mujer latinoamericana. Imágenes híbridas que constituyen nuestro imaginario mestizo.
La obra reinterpreta y transgrede estas figuras a través de modelos actuales, de retratos y autorretratos, de personas comunes y desnudas de mi propio entorno, que imitan estos cánones para cuestionarlos."

""My work is developed mainly through painting, and photography as a medium subordinate to the pictorial. I have approached the naked female body from different themes and visualities. I believe that our bodies, when represented from our gaze, can bother, transgress canons, generate reflections and not just be the passive body; the recumbent body, as it has been historically in art.
In my exchange to Spain in 2018, I began to work with the appropriation and re-signification of Catholic images, mainly the Virgin Mary: an image of women created and promoted by the Church. María is the unattainable ideal that legitimizes the stereotypes that patriarchal society imposes on women, and hers two great weapons-characteristics of her are virginity and maternity.  Already in Chile the subject becomes more complex. My new referents are colonial hybrid images; images that came from Europe to our conGnent, which were mixed and creating new interpretations. Images with which they managed to conquer our territory; images that managed to position the Virgin as the model of "must be" for Latin American women. Hybrid images that constitute our mestizo imaginary.
The work reinterprets and transgresses these figures through current models, portraits and self-portraits, of common and naked people from my own environment, who imitate these canons to question them."
